Purchasing your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

You can pay for your cover now via Credit Card or PayPal. You will need to pay the full amount in the next step, so please ensure you have the funds available before proceeding.

You may also want to contact your bank/credit card issuer at least 24 hours in advance of making your OSHC payment. This will ensure they are aware of the transaction and can avoid delays processing your payment to Medibank.

  • We’ll waive the 12 month waiting period on pregnancy and birth services, giving you added peace of mind if you are planning a pregnancy or already pregnant

  • Increase the maximum amount you get back on eligible prescription medicines to 100% of cost (up to the annual limit) to help reduce your out-of-pocket costs (Medibank Essentials OSHC pays $70 per item up to the annual limit)

  • Increase your annual limit on eligible prescription medicines to $500 per single membership and $1000 per couple or family membership (sub-limit of $500 per person) (Medibank Essentials OSHC pays $300 per single membership and $600 per couple or family membership (sub-limit of $300 per person))

  • We’ll pay up to $100 per consultation towards private psychology services* at recognised providers, up to a maximum of $200 on Singles cover or up to $400 per policy on Couples and Family cover, per calendar year

* Psychology services not billed with an MBS (Medicare Benefit Schedule) item. Psychology services billed with an MBS item are payable based on the MBS fee and are not subject to annual limits.
